We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic retail assistant to join our close-knit Cash & Carry Team.

The ideal candidate is reliable, committed and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Based in Stockport, Stephensons are an established family business with almost 150 years supplying the catering and hospitality industry.

Monday – Friday: 9am-5:30pm
plus 3-4 Saturdays: 9:30am-3pm

Work as a member of Cash and Carry Front of House Team
  • Ensure that all customers receive an excellent level of customer service
  • Go the ‘extra mile’ for all customers
  • Operate the cash and carry opening and closing procedure
  • Operate tills accurately and quickly
  • Advise customers on most suitable and correct products
  • Try to achieve suitable add on sales eg bins with lids etc
  • Take full responsibility for ‘to order’ items i.e. ordering items, communicating with the customer and supplier re delivery dates and times
  • Be willing to complete your customer’s sale and stay with the customer after usual closing times to do this
Other Cash and Carry duties
  • Code stock and note, action any discrepancies and stock shelves as necessary
  • Ensure that aisles are consistently well stocked and are always neat and tidy
  • Pick cash and carry orders to correct times ensuring that they are ready for the customer to collect
  • Assist in maintaining the cash and carry showroom
  • Merchandise items in an attractive manner to optimise sales
  • Constantly update your product knowledge by attending training sessions and by questioning reps and managers on products
Assist in maintaining the security of Cash and Carry
  • Observe customers and ensure that retail area is manned wherever possible
General duties
  • Assist in other departments as required
  • Assist with annual stocktake (which may involve working one weekend annually)

  • Dependable-  Meets cash & carry, show room & customer expectations, highly organises own time effectively and creates own work schedules. Prioritises and prepares in advance. Sets realistic time-scales.
  • Team Work- Supports others and shows respect in all situations. Working effectively within the team, other departments and with customers. Behaves consistently with clear personal values that compliment those of the organisation.
  • Product knowledge- Background knowledge and a thorough grasp of products and services. Has expertise in own area and/or is able to demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Hiring: Temporary / Freelance Graphic Designer

We are looking to hire a graphic designer to help with our industry-leading catering equipment catalogue. Based in Stockport, Manchester, the ideal candidate would be able to work on site for 5 weeks from mid-February.

Every year we produce an extensive catalogue that documents our exciting range of catering equipment. Widely regarded as the best in the industry, we intend to make the 2017 edition our finest yet!

Last year we adopted a vintage-inspired newspaper theme. Eye-catching, colourful and quirky, our 2016 catalogue is one of the best looking around.

Stephensons Appoint Assistant Stockport Territory Manager

Catering equipment suppliers, Stephensons, assign a second Territory Manager for Stockport customers.

Following the growing demand for quality catering equipment, we are proud to announce that we have now appointed a second Territory Manager for Stockport Customers.

Having joined the business four years ago in the Sales Department and later progressing to the Cash and Carry, Rob Douglas will now be serving customers in Stockport as Territory Manager, alongside Chris Morral.

Rob will be working with establishments in SK1, SK2, SK4, SK5, SK9, SK13, SK14, SK15, SK16 and SK23. Many of his customers will already know him from the Cash and Carry but he is also eager to get out and meet new customers within the local area. Stephensons Introduce Mark Holmes As Their Latest Addition To The Team

Stephensons catering equipment supplier welcome Mark Holmes as their new Territory Manager for Liverpool, Chester and the Wirral.

With over 25 years experience in the catering industry, we’re proud to introduce Mark as the newest addition to our ever expanding team. Having worked in some of the best kitchens in the country, Mark’s wealth of knowledge is an asset to the company and is already valued among customers.

Mark’s comprehensive background as a chef range from Commis Chef at the start of his career progressing through to Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef right through to Head Chef and Proprietor. Restaurants Mark has worked at include: The Mayfair Five Star Deluxe Hotel in London; La Terrace at Le Meridian Hotel in London; and Scotts Restaurant and Champagne Bar in London. In the North West region Mark has worked at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and Mr Thomas’ Restaurant and Bar in Manchester among many more!

A chat with mark will unearth plenty of interesting stories and even the odd bit of name dropping having personally cooked for the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and even the Royal Family!

Stephensons Welcome A New Territory Manager

Stephensons Welcome A New Territory Manager

We welcome on board Chris Morral as our newest addition to our ever expanding team at Stephensons catering equipment suppliers.

Taking on the role of Territory Manager, Chris will be working closely with customers based in the north of Stockport.

With a strong background working in the catering industry Chris has keen interests in all things bar and restaurant.

Chris Said: “I’m excited to settle into my new role as Territory Manager for the SK North area.”

Originally from Nottingham, Chris moved to Manchester to study hospitality management at Manchester Metropolitan University.

After graduating Chris worked in America for 13 months, where he spent time working at The Inn, Thorn Hill Jackson, New Hampshire.

Having moved back to England Chris gained further experience as a Bar Manager and Deputy Catering Manager.

Now part of the Stephensons team, we are pleased to have Chris on board who will work closely with our Stockport customer base.
